The international action continues this weekend, with feature racing right across the globe and as always, Stake has you covered.
Cox Plate - Flemington, Australia
The Cox Plate heads to Flemington for the first time on Saturday, with Moonee Valley closed for redevelopment and two-time defending champion Via Sistina absent from the field. Proven over 2000 metres, Sir Delius heads the market, while Aeliana will be partnered by James McDonald. Turnbull Stakes winner Cosmic Crusader brings strong Group 1 form, and Caulfield Guineas victor Warwoven is the three-year-old threat, benefiting from a significant weight allowance.
Futurity Trophy - Doncaster, England
Britain’s final juvenile Group 1 of the season looks set to test stamina and temperament on potentially testing Town Moor ground. Aidan O’Brien once again holds a dominant hand, but Charlie Appleby’s Al Hudaiba and Karl Burke’s progressive Burning Up ensure Ballydoyle won’t have it all their own way over the straight mile.
Kikuka Sho - Kyoto, Japan
All eyes are on Lovcen in Sunday’s Kikuka Sho as he bids to become Japan’s first Triple Crown winner since Contrail in 2020. The Satsuki Sho and Tokyo Yushun hero warmed up with a narrow victory in the Kobe Shimbun Hai, but the 3000-metre trip remains an unknown. St Lite Kinen winner Justin Chicago, Derby third Basse Terre and fourth-placed Going to Sky lead the charge to spoil the party.
